Cynthia Chiles is President and founder of convergence consulting LLC, and she is located in the Los Angeles, California office.
Cynthia has been helping multinationals develop and manage their global EHS compliance programs for more than 25 years. She is a BEAC certified auditor, a current member of the BEAC Standards Board, and a former Auditing Roundtable Board Director.
Cynthia developed the innovative business model on which the company is founded and named. She has 25 years of environmental, health, safety, and social responsibility (EHS), management consulting experience to multi-national clients. She has an expertise in the development and management of global EHS management programs, in particular compliance audit programs, management system implementation programs and performance enhancement programs. She has conducted hundreds of EHS audits in over 17 countries, and currently manages many large scale multi-country audit and consulting support projects for our clients in the pharmaceutical, electronics and retail sectors. Cynthia recently served a four year term on the Auditing Roundtable Board of Directors and currently sits on the Standards Board for the Board of Environmental Health and Safety Auditor Certification (BEAC). She holds a Bachelor of Science in both Political Science and Business Management, and is a BEAC certified environmental auditor.
Alan Gallacher is a Principal and Director in convergence consulting LLC, and located in the Edinburgh, Scotland office.
Alan directs company operations from the Edinburgh, Scotland office, and brings clients his 25 years of international consulting and management systems experience. Alan is a registered IEMA auditor and examiner, and former Regional Chair.
Prior to joining convergence Alan was Board Director of one of the UK's larger environmental consulting firms and had responsibility for a number of offices in Scotland and elsewhere in the UK. Alan has over 25 years experience in EHS consulting and has worked with numerous multinational corporations, including; Eli Lilly, Schering-Plough, Merck, Rhodia, Microsoft, Bombardier, Applied Materials, ITT, NCR, Motorola, Hughes Microelectronics, Shell, BP, Hess, and British Gas/ENI/Lukoil, IFC/World Bank, British Army & Navy, and has performed EHS audits and developed management systems for the oil, gas, engineering, electronics, chemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, defense, and automotive industrial sectors. As well as extensive experience in the UK, Alan has worked throughout Europe, Nigeria, Angola, Kazakhstan, Abu Dhabi, Brazil, the Balkans and the US. Alan has a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in chemistry from St Andrews University in Scotland and an MBA from Edinburgh Business School. Alan is an examiner with the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA), a former IEMA Regional chairman and registered IEMA auditor. Prior to embarking on a career in EHS consulting, Alan was initially employed in the pharmaceutical industry and later managed a start-up recycling firm.
Stanley T. Hickman is Product Director at convergence consulting LLC, and located in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Stan is a renowned EHS compliance and management systems auditor and consultant with over 20 years of experience. He is a BEAC certified auditor, a RAB certified management systems auditor, and serves on the BEAC Certification Committee.
Stan is an accomplished Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) and Process Safety Management (PSM) auditor and consultant with approximately 20 years of experience in the EHS field. He has an extensive background in global EHS auditing and consulting. From the year 2000 he led global EHS audits at Eli Lilly and Company, a pharmaceutical research and manufacturing company. The primary goals of the program were to inform senior management of the company’s global compliance with applicable EHS regulations/legislation and corporate and local policy requirements; and to report on the status of EHS continuous improvement activities. Stan conducted more than 65 EHS and PSM audits in eleven countries (Australia, Belgium, Brazil, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Spain, UK, and the USA including Puerto Rico). Additionally, Stan has expertise in Management Systems, having passed the RAB certification examination for ISO 14001. He has updated and conducted training for internal auditors, developed internal audit protocols, analysed and communicated global audit results, served as the electronic audit database system owner, and was the subject matter expert in developing the business process for an enhanced audit action tracking system.
In prior roles he served as the department head for the environmental compliance and the air emission reduction departments at a large manufacturing site. Previous to those roles he was the site hazardous waste coordinator. Stan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University. He is a BEAC certified auditor and serves on the BEAC Certification Committee since 2006.
Christine Chui Lee is Product Manager at convergence consulting LLC, located in the greater Washington, DC area. She oversees development of convergence Core tools for over 70 countries for the offices, service, and retail sectors.
Christine is an accomplished environmental health and safety (EHS) practitioner, having guided development of EHS programs and systems to improve long-term outcomes. Prior to joining convergence, she worked for 18 years for a U.S.-based management consulting firm serving federal government and national and multinational commercial clients. Her client focus was helping commercial entities and federal government land management agencies implement EHS processes and systems that emphasized continual improvement. Other responsibilities included providing strategy and direction for the firm’s sustainability practice as part of the leadership team.
Christine has also facilitated EHS policy development, participated in over 200 EHS audits and environmental management system (EMS) evaluations, provided over 100 EHS training sessions, and led quality assurance/quality control programs.
Earlier in her career, Christine worked for a nationally-renowned environmental non-profit where it was imperative to use quality data to develop practical, effective, and lasting solutions. She has taken that lesson and applied it throughout her career to improve EHS outcomes.
Christine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Cornell University, a Master of Public Health from the Yale School of Public Health, and a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies.
Karen Leigh Leonard (“Leigh”) is a Senior Project Manager for convergence consulting LLC, and she is located in Madison, Wisconsin. For over 16 years, Leigh has served as a management consultant with an emphasis on data-driven, team-based environmental, health and safety (EHS) and sustainability performance management. Her expertise includes compliance verification and management, environmental management system (EMS) fulfillment (ISO 14001:2015), and emergency preparedness/resiliency. Leigh is a Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA) accredited through the Board of Environmental, Health and Safety Auditor Certification (BEAC). In her consulting career Leigh has served clients at biopharmaceutical and other commercial companies; universities and medical schools; and science-based federal agencies including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Leigh has conducted over 120 environmental or EHS audits, some involving disclosure to EPA, and performed EHS-related work in 44 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Prior to joining convergence consulting LLC, Leigh served for over 16 years as a project manager and management consultant supporting federal and commercial clients for Hitachi Consulting Corporation (HCC) and for PRIZIM Inc. (acquired by Hitachi in 2012). She worked at every level of the National Park Service (NPS) including 85 national parks, four regional offices, and the NPS Headquarters EMS team. She also led the HCC EHS team, developing staff and guiding and optimizing EHS methodologies, including a virtual audit protocol.
Leigh’s career started in New York where she provided staff support to the Oswego County Environmental Management Council and helped plan and execute one of the state’s earliest household hazardous waste clean sweeps. While completing graduate school, she took a position with the twenty-six campus University of Wisconsin (UW) System supporting their fledgling environmental management program. Over fifteen years she helped build and administer the university-wide EHS program, eventually progressing to Associate EHS Manager.
Leigh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Oberlin College and a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
